Morons (ringleader) on KOPS crew: What starts off simply enough as a word shared to represent a crew of graffiti writers, can grow infinitely into something hard to define. When you are young, nature can and will have its way with you. And what a ride it is. An experiment in keeping your sanity, when all you want to do is be crazy.

If you live in Montreal for sure you have seen these guys or maybe heard one of their parties. They are working hard in the MTL by putting on shows, galleries and events that push the graff/street art/urban music aesthetic. Within the past decade they have taken on many forms and used many names.

The next week's postings feature Montreal graffiti's usual suspects, a collection of some of the city's best and most prolific street artists. The artists were selected by documentary filmmaker Pablo Aravena, who has spent the last five years making Next: The Movie, in which he follows graffiti writers and street artists from the guts of the Parisian sewers to skyrises in Sao Paulo.
