Heart Monitor

Roadsworth discovered the literal meaning of his pen name when on Nov.29th 2004, he was apprehended by police for applying his own version of road markings to the streets of Montreal, leaving him with a list of mischief charges each valued between $200 and $5000 that would make the most militant anti-globalization protester blush. Street satire, street tweak, road rage. Whatever you want to call it, it had most downward gazing citizens scratching their heads and wondering what kind of shit the city's street painters were smoking.

While Montreal weather, traffic and road salt his ensured that Roadsworth's work be worthy of the "ephemeral art" tag there are still some traces of his descent into paint solvent induced madness, notably outside the Darling Foundry in Old Montreal where he was commissioned to paint a bike path linking Rue de la Commune with Quartier Ephemere via Queen Street. Other traces exist throughout the Plateau, Mile-End and to a lesser extent the Centre-Ville although visible only to the most avid of toe gazers. Also, keep an eye out for unusual shadows projected onto sidewalks by street lamps.
